It was wonderful working for Aardman and I would do it again in a heartbeat.

Last weekend I completed major design work for the upcoming SYFY Channel pilot Battlestar Galactica: Blood and Chrome.

 It’s awesome !!!!

A bit about me.

I studied classical and technical animation at Sheridan College in Oakville, Ontario, Canada, until 1984. Upon completion I went to work for animation powerhouse Nelvana in Toronto. I worked on such shows as DROIDS: The Adventures of R2D2 and C3Po for Lucasfilm. I grew up being a total STAR WARS geek, so that was a huge thrill. While at Nelvana I also worked on stuff like BABAR, CARE BEARS, BEETLEJUICE, EEK THE CAT, C.O.P.S. JAMES BOND Jr. DROIDS: THE GREAT HEEP, SMURFS, RUPERT, PUNKY BREWSTER, CADILLACS AND DINOSAURS…you get the idea.

In 1995 I was invited to join Walt Disney Feature Animation in Orlando Florida.  I was a journeyman layout artist on the following Feature Films:  MULAN, TARZAN, LILO AND STITCH, BROTHER BEAR, BROTHER BEAR 2 and the  JOHN HENRY short.

In 2004 Disney shuttered the studio and I moved into concept art.  I have been working at computer game company n-Space in Orlando ever since.

My shipped titles include TOY STORY 3 Disney Interactive, Nintendo DS, available 6/15/10, Marvel: Ultimate Alliance 2™(Activision, Nintendo Wii & DS, PlayStation 2, 9/16/09, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare: Mobilized (Activision, Nintendo DS, 11/10/09) Star Wars Battlefront: Elite Squadron (LucasArts, Nintendo DS, 11/3/09),  STAR WARS: The Force Unleashed (Lucasarts, Nintendo DS, 9/16/08).

The reason I was able to make the transition to doing it as a full-time gig was because I was already doing it freelance before Disney shut down.  I had lucked into being asked to design spacecraft for the new BATTLESTAR GALACTICA and CAPRICA television shows. I continued my multi-year gig with Universal to include THE BIONIC WOMAN and another sci-fi project titled VIRTUALITY.

I also continue to do freelance work for feature films, including the cg animated film ARTHUR CHRISTMAS for Aadrman Animations out of the UK. They are famous for the highly popular Wallace and Grommit films. Also, I did a bunch of conceptual work for a CG animated film titled THE WILD BUNCH which is currently in production in Israel.

That’s about it really…oh…I still find time to make cast aluminum rayguns in my garage/workshop.

My new website is up !!!!!!!
